The Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf) published the study in 2010.

Science and Technology Re-Prioritises Budget to Support Human Capital Development

The Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor, has approved the re-prioritisation of her department’s 2010/11 budget to support human capital development. This move is in keeping with the objectives of the national research and development (R&D) strategy published in 2002.

According to a media statement, R255.434 million will be allocated to the National Research Foundation (NRF), whose mandate is to support and promote university research in all fields of science and technology.

Members of Council for Space Affairs Appointed

The trade and industry minister, Rob Davies, has appointed 15 people to serve on the South African Council for Space Affairs (SACSA).

According to a statement released by the trade and industry department, the 15 appointees come from various government departments, academia and industry.

The council is constituted in terms of the Space Affairs Act.
