The science and technology department has taken further steps to implement its National Integrated Cyberinfrastructure System (NICIS) alongside its entity, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, by funding two projects.

The first project involves the establishment of an initial regional data centre that will eventually form a national network, supporting a wide range of data-intensive scientific activities as part of the NICIS.
