South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions
The South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNSP) has published revised fees for registration and annual subscription as appropriate for different categories of professional registration.
These updated fees for the 2014/15 year which are made in terms of the Natural Scientific Professions Act (2003) are effective from 1 April 2014.
Department of Science and Technology
Nominations for the National Bioinformatics Service Platform (BSP) Steering Committee and committees for bioinformatics education and training as well as bioinformatics services and support have been invited by the Department of Science and Technology.
The department has invested in the BSP in order to provide a range of user-centred and coordinated computational bioinformatics services to the South African biotechnology industry and life science researchers.
Independent Communications Authority of South Africa
A public inquiry into the state of competition in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector has been launched by the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA).
The investigation is based on research that shows that the cost to communicate has not decreased substantially and that South African consumers pay considerably more than their counterparts in Africa.
