Potential for Titanium Powder Production Highlighted

The science and technology minister, Naledi Pandor, proclaimed this during an address at MINTEK in Johannesburg where the Non-Aligned Movement’s (NAM) Centre for Science and Technology was holding its training programme.

Hydrogen Energy Storage Under the Spotlight

A new hydrogen research facility has been launched at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in Pretoria.

Launched by the department of science and technology, the facility will be jointly used by Hydrogen South Africa and the Batteries Research Centre for energy storage to conduct research to develop novel materials that can meet the challenging hydrogen energy storage requirements.

Electricity Theft Detection Device Under Development

Science and technology minister Naledi Pandor says a device to detect electricity theft will soon be made available to the public and installed in prepaid meter boxes.

The minister was replying to a parliamentary question about the apparatus, which was developed by the Technology Innovation Agency and called Saggitarious Serpentariou.
