The proposed policies have been published in terms of the Spatial Data Infrastructure Act of 2003.
Restricted Activities Published for Sutherland Astronomy Area

The declaration to restrict and regulate certain activities in the Sutherland Core Astronomy Advantage Area in terms of the Astronomy Geographic Advantage Act (2007) has been published by the Department of Science and Technology.
The declaration lists restricted activities in the optical astronomy area as the following:

The intention to declare the Sutherland and the Karoo Central Astronomy Advantage Areas in terms of the Astronomy Geographic Advantage Act (2007) has been gazetted for public comment.
