An Infrastructure Development Bill is in the pipeline to enhance coordination around infrastructure build in South Africa.

The presidential infrastructure coordinating commission (PICC) was set up by cabinet in July 2011 to bring together the three spheres of government to drive increased levels of infrastructure development.

The draft plan was handed over to president Zuma at a function in Pretoria on Friday by the chairperson of the NPC, minister Trevor Manuel.

New Pay Levels for Magistrates and Judges

President Zuma has proclaimed new salary levels for magistrates, judges and constitutional court judges in the Government Gazette.

The latest salaries are published in terms of the Magistrates Act of 1993 and the Judges’ Remuneration and Conditions of Employment Act of 2001.
