Council for Geosciences Report on Coal in the Pipeline

The mineral resources minister, Susan Shabangu, has indicated that the council for geosciences has completed its study on South Africa’s coal resources and reserves.
She revealed this during an address at the latest South African Coal Export Conference in Cape Town.
Parliament Briefed on Two Energy Regulator Bills

The energy department has briefed the national assembly’s energy committee on the proposed amendments to the National Energy Regulator Act and the Electricity Regulation Act.
The National Energy Regulator Amendment Bill and the Electricity Regulation Second Amendment Bill were approved by cabinet towards the end of last year and published for comment in December 2011.
Public Comment Period for Two Electricity Bills Extended

The energy department has published a notice on its website extending the public comment period for two recently released electricity bills.
The two bills are the National Energy Regulator Amendment Bill and the Electricity Regulation Second Amendment Bill. They were published for comment in December.
