Travelling Children Regulations Postponed

Implementation of the home affairs regulations on the need for unabridged birth certificates for travelling children as well as written permission from parents or guardians has been postponed until 1 June 2015.

The home affairs minister, Malusi Gigaba, made this announcement at a media briefing in Cape Town.

R5 Million Investment for Business Visa

In order to qualify for a business visa, R5 000 000 needs to be invested by a foreigner in an existing South African business or a potential business.

This directive is contained in regulations published in Government Gazette 37837.

R37 000 Pension Per Month for Retired Person Visa

In order to qualify for a retired person visa, an applicant will need a minimum monthly pension payment of R37 000.

This requirement is contained in a batch of Immigration Act regulations published in Government Gazette 37716 in terms of the Immigration Act of 2002.
