Rules Relating to Good Pharmacy Practice to be Tweaked

The South African Pharmacy Council has published its intention, in Notice 591 in Government Gazette 41043, to add minimum standards to Annexure A of the Rules Relating to Good Pharmacy Practice.

The proposed minimum standard specifically relates to the approval of facilities (other than primary healthcare clinics) where a pharmacist’s assistant (post-basic) may practice under indirect supervision – pharmacy linked distribution points.

Medicines and Related Substances Act Schedules Updated

The health department has published updated schedules in Government Gazette 41009 in terms of the Medicines and Related Substances Act of 1965.

The revised schedules are published following recommendations by the Medicines Control Council.
