&lt;p&gt;Social development deputy minister Maria Ntuli has called for “comprehensive legal and policy frameworks balancing work and family life”.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In her view, these should allow for “shared care responsibility between men and women, other family members, the state, the private sector and society as a whole”. &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Correctional Services Implements Regulations on Formal Education for Offenders of School-Going Age</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Department of Correctional Services&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Regulations in terms of which no offender or prison inmate of school-going age should leave a correctional services facility “without a grade 12 or ... senior certificate” are now in effect. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Correctional services minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula confirmed this during an address to guests at her department’s 2012 national offender choir competition.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Nzimande Accepts Recommendation to Establish National Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Department of Higher Education and Training&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Higher education and training minister Blade Nzimande has accepted a recommendation included in the humanities and social sciences charter report to establish a national institute of humanities and social sciences.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to the minister’s official response to the report, with this in mind he “plans to amend” Higher Education Act 101 of 1997.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Proposed National Senior Certificate for Adults: Comment Invited</title>

 <title>FET Colleges Amendment Bill Awaits Presidential Assent</title>

 <title>Green Paper on Post-School Education to Address African Language Development</title>
