Tourism BBBEE Sector Code Released for Comment

A Draft Amended Tourism Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) Sector Code has been published for comment.

Published in Government Gazette 38915, the draft code seeks to align the existing Tourism BBBEE code with the amended generic codes of good practice that came into force in May 2015.

Comment Period for Liquor Policy Extended

Stakeholders have been given additional time to comment on the Draft National Liquor Policy.

The draft policy, published in Government Gazette 38808 in May 2015 for comment, outlines policy proposals intended to introduce amendments to the National Liquor Act of 2003.

SARB Issues Directive on Electronic Money Transfers

South African Reserve Bank

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) has issued a directive to banks on how electronic fund transfers are to be carried out.

The directive, published in Government Gazette 38894, is based on recommendations drawn up by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) in 2012.
