Comment Sought on Remote Gambling Bill

Comment has been called on proposed legislation designed to put a regulatory framework for remote gambling in place.

The Draft Remote Gambling Bill, a private member’s bill drawn up by the Democratic Alliance’s Geordin Hill-Lewis, seeks to plug a loophole in current national gambling legislation characterised by an unregulated online gambling sector.

Small Business Eyes New Policy Proposals

The small business development department was open to new policy proposals on how to increase the number of businesses operating in South Africa and to maintain existing ones.

The small business development minister, Lindiwe Zulu, expressed this sentiment during an address at the Wits Business School last week.

Comment Extended on BBBEE Codes of Good Practice

Stakeholders have been given more time to comment on the draft phase two broad-based black economic empowerment (BBBEE) codes of good practice.

The draft codes were first issued for comment in October 2014.
