No Competition Commission Exemption for Shipping Lines

The Competition Commission has refused to grant the Association of Shipping Lines (ASL) an exemption from certain provisions of section 4 of the Competition Act.

Section 4 deals with the prohibition of restrictive horizontal practices.

ITAC Revises Customs Tariff Application Forms

Revised customs tariff application forms are now in place.

The forms are available on the International Trade Administration Commission (ITAC) website.

ITAC Committee on Steel Industry Set Up

Department of Economic Development

The economic development department has established an International Trade Administration Commission (ITAC) committee to monitor and make recommendations on the local steel industry.

Included in the committee’s scope of monitoring is the impact of changes in import tariffs applicable to the steel industry on downstream users, prices for downstream users and the steel industry in general.
