Laws to Tackle Anti-Competitve Practices on the Cards

Further legislation to strengthen government’s efforts to tackle anti-competitive practices is on the cards.

The economic development minister, Ebrahim Patel, revealed this in a written reply to a parliamentary question.

Amended Tourism BBBEE Code in Force

An Amended Tourism Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) Sector Code is now in force.

Published in Government Gazette 39430, the sector code aligns the previous Tourism BBBEE code with the amended generic codes of good practice that came into force in May 2015.

Veterinary Trade Protocol on Chicken Signed

South Africa has signed a veterinary protocol on chicken with the United States (US).

In a statement, the trade and industry department indicated that the signing followed several months of technical discussions between South African and US veterinary experts.
