Proposed Threshold for Credit Provider Registration Published

The trade and industry department is proposing that the threshold for registration as a credit provider be set at R0.

The National Credit Amendment Act of 2014 had called for a threshold to be put in place in order to determine whether a credit provider was required to be registered.

This was emphasised during the launch of the Black Industrialists Policy in Pretoria yesterday.

Competition Commission Rejects CBE Exemption Applications

Exemption applications from the Council for the Built Environment (CBE) have been rejected by the Competition Commission.

The CBE regulates and monitors the activities of six professional councils within the built environment including the Engineering Council, the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession and the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP).
