Background: 

Before being appointed in November 2010 as deputy minister of performance, monitoring and evaluation in the presidency, Dina Pule was deputy minister of communications for eighteen months. She has also served on the Mpumalanga provincial legislature as member of the executive council (MEC) responsible for safety and security and, subsequently, agriculture and land administration.
