FPB Seeks Appeal Tribunal Member

Nominations are open for a new member of the Appeal Tribunal of the Film and Publication Board (FPB).

The department of communications has published Notice 531 in Government Gazette 40996 inviting members of the public to nominate a person to be appointed as a member of the FPB’s Appeal Tribunal.

National E-Governance Strategy Under the Spotlight

The telecommunications and postal services minister, Siyabonga Cwele, has called for the National E-Governance Strategy to be finalised.

The minister was delivering a speech at the SITA e-Government Industry Day.

Applications for Free-to-Air Television Broadcasting Service Licence Extended

Independent Communications Authority

The closing date for submission of applications for individual commercial free-to-air television broadcasting service licence(s) and the applicable radio frequency spectrum licence (MUX 3 frequencies) has been extended.

This was announced by the Independent Communications Authority (ICASA) in Notice 512 in Government Gazette 40968 and relates to ICASA’s announcement in Notice 513 where an erratum on parts of the invitation to apply (ITA) was published.
