High-Demand Spectrum Service and Digital Dividend: Deadline Extended for Comment on Policy Directives

The deadline has been extended for written submissions on proposed policy directives for high-demand spectrum services and exploiting the digital dividend.
According to notice 80 of Government Gazette 34996 dated 1 February 2012, the new deadline is 29 February 2012.
Electronic Communications Act: Industry Charter Reporting Format Revised

A revised reporting format in respect of the electronic communications industry’s end-user and subscriber service charter has been published in the Government Gazette.
Issued by the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA), the new reporting format is immediately effective.
Status of Amendments to Electronic Communications Act, Cyber Security Policy & Digital Migration Policy Clarified

Communications minister Dina Pule has clarified the status of the Draft Electronic Communications Amendment Bill, the development of a policy on cyber security, and amendments to the policy on digital migration.
