The Independent Communications Authority (ICASA) has published an amended draft of its disability code for electronic communication and broadcasting services.

The new draft as well as an explanatory memorandum have been published in the Government Gazette (38211 / 1007 and 1019 of 14 November 2014).

ICASA Outlines Way Forward on Mobile Telecommunications

The Independent Communications Authority (ICASA) has published the final, so called, road map for radio frequency spectrum for international mobile telecommunications (IMT).

In a notice in the Government Gazette (38213 / 1009 of 17 November 2014) ICASA says the road map identifies the bands for the deployment for IMT and also identifies the migration of a number of current licensees out of (or within) bands identified for ITM services.  For bands where costs and benefits of the migration were not straightforward, ICASA conducted feasibility studies to determine the appropriateness of migration.
