Guidelines for Rebate on Frozen US Chicken Drawn Up

Guidelines on permit applications for the temporary rebate provision for frozen chicken imported from the United States (US) have been published in Government Gazette 42203.

The temporary rebate provision provides for rebate of the full anti-dumping duty on bone-in cuts of frozen US chicken.

At a recent service delivery forum, the agriculture, forestry and fisheries minister, Senzeni Zokwana, announced that his department has begun the process of reviewing the Fertilisers, Farm Feeds, Agricultural Remedies and Stock Remedies Act.

The aim of the review is to ensure that the act is aligned to the current aim of government to ensure easier access and improved turnaround times.

The agriculture, forestry and fisheries minister, Senzeni Zokwana, is still re-considering the appeals received from Category B and Category C Appellants in the Hake Inshore Trawl fishing sector in compliance with a court order.

In a briefing to parliament on the Fishing Rights Allocation Process (FRAP), the department confirmed that the process is at an advanced stage and should be finalised by the end of November 2018.

In a statement, the department confirmed that the Agreement focuses on the Requirements for Wine Labelling concerning Alcohol Tolerance, Vintage, Variety and Wine Regions.
