Import Rules for Agricultural Products Laid Down

The department of agriculture, forestry and fisheries has announced next year’s broad based black economic empowerment (BBBEE) rules for importing agriculture products in terms of the World Trade Organisations’ Marrakesh agreement.

According to a notice in the Government Gazette (38261 / 1085 of 28 November 2014) permits will be allocated on the basis of the preferential market access permit allocation points system, taking into account:
