The portfolio committee on labour has called for comment on the Draft National Minimum Wage Amendment Bill.
The committee met in January 2019 to discuss the need for a draft bill to deal with a technical error found in the National Minimum Wage Act.
Municipal Structures Bill Sent to NCOP for Concurrence

A bill designed to address the problems experienced in the implementation of the Local Government: Municipal Structures Act has been passed by the national assembly and sent to the national council of provinces for concurrence.
The Local Government: Municipal Structures Amendment Bill was drawn up by the cooperative governance and traditional affairs department and tabled in June 2018.
SARB Draws Up Discussion Paper on SIFIs

The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) has drawn up a discussion paper on a proposed methodology to determine systemically important banks in South Africa.
Comment on the discussion paper entitled ‘A methodology to determine which banks are systemically important within the South African context’ is invited until 29 March 2019.

The Traditional Leadership and Governance Framework Amendment Bill has been passed by parliament and sent to president Ramaphosa for assent.
The national council of provinces amended the bill and returned it to the national assembly for concurrence in December 2018.

The Draft Independent System and Market Operator (ISMO) bill’s explanatory summary was published in Government Gazette 42237.
