The portfolio committee on energy has called for comment on the Draft Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) 2018.

The IRP was published for comment at the end of August 2018.

Economic Stimulus Package on Track

The Presidency

The envisaged economic stimulus package will consist of economic reforms covering issues such as mining, telecommunications, tourism and transport.

The presidency confirmed this in a statement issued following a meeting with business and labour leaders last week.

Amendments to the JSE Debt Listings Requirements have been approved.

The Financial Sector Conduct Authority announced the approval in Government Gazette 41903.

Regulations Relating to Protected Disclosures in Place

Department of Justice and Constitutional Development

Regulations prescribing persons or bodies to whom protected disclosures may be made have been drawn up.

The justice and constitutional development department published the regulations in Government Gazette 41904.

Treasury Gives Responses to Comment on Draft Tax Bills

National Treasury

National treasury revealed this during a briefing on draft responses to submissions on the Draft Taxation Laws Amendment Bill (TLAB) and the Draft Tax Administration Laws Amendment Bill (TALAB) in parliament.

Treasury added that “taxpayers should also state the cash tax impact (by using last year’s financial statement figures) after taking into account the proposed allowance so as to determine an appropriate phasing-in period.”
